Kay in Cal
Something that is game-like and vaguely interesting? Ds uses the computer a lot, but needs to learn HOW to type. Thank you!
chai
You can start with Dance Mat Typing. It's free and fun! My dd learned more from this site than she did from Typing Instructor Deluxe. It is a great place to start though you'll need to get something else after it. Typing Instructor Deluxe is pretty good too though you might want to try the kids version. keithfamily5
My girls 11 and 8, both enjoy this. I think it must be the kids version. It has lots of games. Patty
Virginia Heather
Here's a second vote for Dance Mat Typing-- we just started last week and my boys are loving it!
MomOfOneFunOne
My daughter will finish Dance Mat tomorrow. She only started it a few days ago but she enjoyed it so much that I could hardly drag her away from it. Here is my problem, though: She's practiced home row and all the letters/fingers and I feel that each one had plenty of practice. However, it will end tomorrow and there won't be any more practice. I wish it would go on to another couple of levels where they could do some more after basics typing. But hey, it's free! Oh, by the way, the keyboard layout on the screen is slightly different than ours: the @ is at the right pinky, for example. Still, my daughter found it extremely fun and drove right through it!
