PineFarmMom
At this point, I have the walls painted an oatmeal color and someone making bandana curtains. I would like to do a saddle/worn leather faux finish on the walls. What is a good way to do it? Also, any ideas on accessories, etc., that would go well for this theme in a church setting? I'm thinking of buying a rope and making a high border around the room with the rope. I'd love input. Thanks! Teresa
Twinmom
If you are creative, try painting some fenceposts on the wall (or, attaching some real ones) and painting barbed wire along them! A few cactus would be nice (if you can't paint them, get green fabric, stuff it and use plastic pieces as the needles, then attach to the wall). Hang a few cowboy hats...maybe from the fenceposts. You'll have a cute room!
Blueridge
As far as your faux wall finish, I recently saw all sorts of information and samples of that technique at Lowes. They could probably help you get the materials you would need. Our last house had an upstairs den with a rustic theme when we bought it, and the former owners had stapled burlap onto the main wall and bordered it with rope. You might consider getting a length of ready-made fence section (6-8 ft) and attaching it to one wall. You could hang a coiled rope on one end. How about getting an oil lamp or two from Walmart to sit on an old table. How fun for the kids! Ginger
