Donovans4
Does anyone know of a literature study aimed at 5th - 6th grade that is similar to Lightning Lit? My ds will be in 6th next year, but not quite ready for LL7. thanks, LauraD in MN

Melabella
This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but what about Figuratively Speaking? I have not used this, but I plan to next year with my 5th grade dd. I read good reviews of it on these boards, so you could probably do a search and find more info. Guest aquiverfull
Well I've never seen Lightning Literature so I don't know how these would compare. If you are looking for literature guides you can check out Total Language Plus, Novel Units, or Progeny Press. They all have samples available. PeterPan
If christian is ok, you might look at the BJU reading. I know it uses selections and press-written stuff rather than whole books, but it's TERRIFIC, covering lots of valuable skills. The more I do, the more I'm amazed! HappyGrace
BJU reading? (BTW, dd is liking CLE Reading-level 5 (doing it orally and it's going very quickly yet well) but I'll want something for next yr-not wanting to go into level 6 yet with a 4th grader! I've had my eye on the BJU.) Good thread! :lurk5:
