Stacia
Any books to recommend? My dd (10yo) would like to learn some basic sewing & I'm afraid I don't really know much about it. Are there any books w/ great illustrations & descriptions? For example, I think it would be fun if she could end up being able to make some of the felt food &/or dolls from using patterns from here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5652976 (By the way, if you sign up for this gal's emails, you will get a free pattern to make felt strawberries.) Before we tackle something like those projects, I'd love to go through a sewing book that explains some basic stitches, etc.... Thanks! Guest Alte Veste Academy
I love the book the others have recommended for littles. For your daughter's age, I think See and Sew might be more appropriate since it has more stitches and a bit more about basic sewing. Someone gave it as a gift for my dd4 and it's too much for her age but would be perfect for a 10 year old, I think. The one the others recommended is right on for my daughter now and might be too simple for 10. http://www.amazon.com/See-Sew-Sewing-Book-Children/dp/1584794917/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237237344&sr=8-
