3lilreds in NC
We're only in Level 2, so it's not a big deal at this point; they usually get all the words right. However, occasionally they miss one. What do you do? I've been dictating the words, phrases and sentences. When they get one wrong, how do I have them correct it? I usually say, "Look at that word and tell me if you see anything wrong." Often they can self-correct, but sometimes not. I'm just curious how others work with this. Mommy22alyns
I do the same thing. I have her look at the word and think about whatever spelling rule is applicable. She can usually figure it out and remember the rule. If she can't self-correct, I'd just reiterate the rule and explain how it applies to that misspelled word. arcara
Same here. Go over the rule and help them correct the word. Make a note to review words using the same rule over the next few days.
mamaof2andtwins
I just tell them that their spelling is incorrect and ask them to tell me how to fix it. Usually, when I point out that it is wrong, they recognize their mistake right away. Jennie
