Michelle in MO
It's too late for me with CW now, at least with our girls, because they're now in school. But I have to ask---do you like the tutorials? Frankly this sounds like a great idea, especially with the more difficult levels of CW, starting at about Maxim or Chreia onwards. Have you tried them---and what are your thoughts, Beth?
Beth in SW WA
Have you tried them---and what are your thoughts, Beth? Michelle, Dd is in Kathy's Homer Older Beginner class forum where kids post their daily/weekly work for Kathy & other students to give feedback. Ds is watching Kathy's Maxim tutorial on cd-roms. He also posts to the Maxim forum. It is a self-study type program where the kids can work at their own pace since nothing is "live." I watch the tutorial w/ ds and I am impressed w/ the way Kathy runs the classes. They cover a lot of material in 1.5 hours. As for the "live" tutorials which start next Fall, they will be held in Webex w/ Kathy and students interacting together. I'm excited about CW and I wish I would have found it sooner. I didn't know that there were cd-roms of the classes available but I guess there are none available for the Older Beginner's which is the one my ds is in. Too bad. I feel like we are already getting behind.

Kathie in VA
I am doing CW OB now with my 7th and 8th grade dc. We are behind but hoping to finnish and maybe??? do the Poetry. Next year I'd like to do Maxim. Actually I really wish they were offering the Maxim/Chrea online course again but they are not (I asked). :glare: So I guess my dd will only get thru Plutarch before graduating. :001_unsure: However I am thinking of at least doing the Maxim online course, if we have the money to put both kids into it. We could really use the accountability! ;) --Kathie in VA

Will you do Maxim in the Fall? You're right, Beth :001_smile:. I have to remember that it's self-study. I was trying to follow the suggested schedule that Kathy posted, but it doesn't look like we'll be able to keep up that pace.
