SusanAR
Now that I have changed my plans for math next year and will be purchasing CD pre-cal (ouch :001_unsure:), I will probably use Apologia Chemistry with the TC lectures which are on sale now for $59. I had planned to use BJU with the DVD's, but they along with ChalkDust pre-cal and CC tuition are tooooo expensive. So, does anyone have any suggestions for supplementing Apologia's labs and teaching data interpretation? Susan
MomsintheGarden
We got the DIVE Chemistry CD this year as a lab supplement. It has 22 labs on it, and they are demos shown right on the CD. You can also print the lab report sheets - they are fill-in-the-blank and really help the student get the most out of the labs. There are also lectures - they are geared to the BJU curriculum - that would be helpful to teach concepts for any high school Chemistry course. My dd has found it helpful. It's $50, so it's not really inexpensive, but I think it's a good buy. The workbook is $15 if you don't want to print the pages from the CD. Virginia in Tx
There are lots of labs and online worksheets you can get for Chemistry. I use a few websites (links below) to supplement our curriculum. http://www.nclark.net/Chemistry - a large list of web sites by category http://misterguch.brinkster.net/labs.html - labs http://www.siraze.net/chemistry/sezennur/experiments.htm - labs http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=fab10d36b56edde14cdf&page=1&viewtype=&category= example of lecture on teacher tube - there are more you just have do search within teachertube to find them. I like this particular instructor. http://www.sciencegeek.net/Chemistry/taters/directory.shtml - interactive quizes by subject.

MomsintheGarden
Would these be considered virtual labs? Thanks! I don't think so. I'm not very savvy on what a virtual lab is, but I believe it is more interactive than what's on the DIVE Chemistry CD. The CD has photos of all the procedures/reactions. It also has moving-type demos of how to organize data in Excel. I wish DIVE had demos on their website. HTH, GardenMom
