amy g.
Take a look at what my 9 year old has been drawing in her Bible journal. Unfortunately, I'm just learning how to scan, so you have to right click on the pictures, then zoom in to see them. I think that she is really getting good at showing expression in her drawings. I'm starting to worry about being a "homeschooling failure" so I'm looking for a few warm fuzzies. http://www.freewebs.com/dancingdogdairy/liv.htm
GothicGyrl
No reason to think you are a failure, what she's doing is illustrating the finer point of what she's learned. She's got the subject, the title and the main gist of the text, all drawn out. Basically, if she were doing coloring book artwork, that's how it would be done. So all is good mom. ;)

amy g.
I'm mainly worried about how weak I am in Math and Science. I have a friend who is a successful physicist. She has been tutoring my older kids in Math one day a week. She suggested that I advance my son 2 grade levels in Math. I did, and he has done well despite my poor teaching. The great news is that she is putting an offer on the house down the street. If she gets it, she will take over all Math and Science for me, and I'll teach her kids Art and English. That would be a dream come true.
