Hoggirl
If you have a study bible when, exactly, do you read the notes/commentary that go along with what you have read? Verse by verse? Chapter by chapter? Only when you hit something that is unclear to you? Before you read the scripture? I am not wanting to debate the merits of commentary/no commentary. I am just wondering if folks have a "method" to doing this. Cynthia
Parrothead
I will read the chapter first then look at the notes then read the chapter again stopping at the places there are notes.
Chelle in MO
I do it by verse, just on the ones that interest me. Chelle
Hoggirl
I've had an NIV study bible for a long time, but I recently acquired an ESV study bible. For some reason or another, I am having a hard time adjusting to it. Perhaps b/c the volume of notes is so much greater. I think I am going to try the chapter - notes - repeat chapter approach.
