Chloe
I've got a big piece of baked salmon left from dinner tonight. Can I make a salmon pate with it? All the recipes I've looked at call for canned salmon. Thanks! Kimberly
LaxMom
I wouldn't see why not. Just figure out how much a "can" is and be sure it's appropriately boned.
Janet in Toronto
There's no reason why you can't use baked salmon in place of canned salmon in a recipe. I think recipes just called for canned because most people don't have leftover salmon in their fridge! Frankly, I'd just lightly heat the fish and eat it as is, or make salmon salad for sandwiches with it. Yum-ola!
Jen in PA
I use leftover baked salmon all the time in place of canned for a quiche recipe, and it turns out fine.
Chloe
Thanks, ladies. My family is not good about eating leftovers, so reheating it won't happen. I thought about the salmon pate because we're having company Sunday after church. Would it still be good for then if I make it into pate tomorrow? dawn of ns
Oh yum. I'd be making salmon omelettes for breakfast!
Tracey in TX
Baked salmon in a rice dish or salad is also healthy and delicious.
