Nm.
I saw this recommended for middle school. Anyone use for spine? DS11 wants to go more in-depth for Middle Ages. How do you use it…? Edited December 28, 2022 by Lovinglife123
HomeAgain
We used it for 5th and 6th. My intention was to use it for four years, so I divided the 3 books so that we covered approximately 3/4 of a book each year. Since it's just readings, I supplemented a lot. The first year I supplemented with MarionBrady World History- https://www.marionbrady.com/ The second year more with Reading Like a Historian- https://sheg.stanford.edu/ Both years we used Hakim's Story of Science, Outrageous Women of _____ by Leon, and activities from Teach With Magic and the SOTW activity guides. My goal was to look at history as more encompassing than the first go-around. There was more science study, more literature study, and even math brought in along with reasoning and critical thinking skills. It may be more intensive than you want to spend your day, but I can say that ds really liked having subjects integrated (including IEW's theme books to rotate back through topics).
Nm.
What did you go with after that?

The plan was to have continued with the books, though, and Reading Like A Historian/book 3 of Story of Science.
Nm.
Ok thanks! So it’s not like the plan wasn’t good and you switched. I might have to try it out.
ScoutTN
We enjoyed K12! We used it with supplemental library books, fiction and non fiction, through middle school and really enjoyed it. A good step up from SOTW, but still with a good narrative voice. Sturdy hardbacks with pleasing art and font. Inexpensive when purchased used on Amazon.
