Green Bean
I decided to add OPGTR to Little Man's line up as BJU Phonics & English 1 has little reading practice. I felt he needed a little bit more systematic teaching, plus I need peace of mind knowing we are covering everything. So I am using the 2005 edition of OPGTR. I think many years ago someone made a little chart showing when to start FLL and WWE and spelling plus listing readers? Anyone recognize what I am referring to and can share/point me in the right direction? Thank you!
desertflower
Well, I don't know about a list, but I can tell you that we started FLL and WWE when they were capable. FLL 1 was done orally and generally done around 5 yo. WWE was done in first grade. Sometimes orally - just depended on the kid and time. I skipped the copywork (and if there was dictation) suggested in FLL because there was a lot of copywork in WWE. We didn't do OPGTR. For readers at that age I used the following: American Language Readers Set Nora Gaydos books (may be out of print) You read to me, then I'll read to you series Elephant and Piggie series tons of stuff from the library Hth!
