Lisa in the UP of MI
I am using OPGTR with dd and she likes it okay, but what she really likes is when I turn the lessons into a game. I don't really have the time or energy to do this well. I'm looking at Happy Phonics probably as a supplement to what we are already doing. We are also doing AAS 1, which she loves, and we are racing through the steps to get to new material. So, if you use Happy Phonics can you tell me more about it? Do you use it as a supplement to another program and if so how does that work? Thanks!
SophiaH
I don't have much time to post as dinner is almost ready, but I wanted to let you know how we use Happy Phonics. I don't use it that often, but i use it as a supplement to OPG. If dd6 is having specific trouble with a certain pattern, then we'll pull out the game that goes with that sound. I wouldn't use it as a stand-alone program, but I think it works well as a supplement, or to use for variety. Sorry I didn't answer in more detail right now! King Alfred Academy
We love HP here! I had originally bought it to use along with ETC (like they recommend) but since then have started using SSRW. I am still using it to go along with this program. I go through the booklet to located which games will go with the "rule" we are learning and then we have fun playing! I think it would be a great supplement to OPTR. Word of advice...try to buy it used! I spent 9 hours cutting it all out!
