mlktwins
Both of my boys are applying to both schools DH went to. One they should get into no problem (with their stats and everything else), but who knows these days. This was where DH went for his undergrad. The other is the most selective public school in our state. DH went to law school there (one of the top 10 in the country). He appreciates his time there and is proud of his degree, but he isn't into the alumni scene nor donating large sums of money -- LOL. We know this is a highly selective school and understand they probably won't get in (or will be waitlisted), but will it hurt them for the college to know about DH - especially since he isn't into the alumni/donor thing? These are not the only 2 schools they are applying to.
bibiche
I don’t see why it would hurt, but know that most schools only consider students as legacy when the parents have attended the school for undergrad. 2
Farrar
Most public schools don't do legacy. Some schools do actually consider grad school legacy. If the school uses the Common App, they'll see it. It asks what degrees the parents attended and what schools they attended. 1
