TallOcean
We are in a community with many Hebrew speakers. We were hoping to find a gentle introduction to Hebrew (not biblical) - something like song school Spanish for early elementary would be ideal. Not really interested in taking online classes right now as DD7 has trouble focusing on classes on Outschool and the like - but if I learn the songs or scripts - she is more motivated. HomeAgain
DS and I found something called Dinolingo a while ago. It's not exactly cheap, but we tried it out for a month because he was interested in more than Youtube videos when we did SOTW 1: https://dinolingo.com/learn-hebrew-for-kids
JennyD
Hi TallOcean! My homeschooled kids have learned modern Hebrew through a combination of part-time day school enrollment, private tutors, and attending school in Israel. There aren't great resources for learning the language at home. Duolingo isn't bad, as a pp said. The gold standard for Hebrew language learning is the Tal Am program, which sells only to schools. Behrmann House does sell to individuals and they have some nice intro-level Hebrew materials for kids; just FYI, though, teacher manuals for some of the programs are only in Hebrew. Shifra
Do you understand and read Hebrew? If you do, I really like Hakol Chadash. It comes in three levels for grades 2-5, I think. It is meant for children who move to Israel to learn Hebrew. https://www.israelbookshop.com/hakol-chadash-i.html https://www.israelbookshop.com/hakol-chadash-ii.html https://www.israelbookshop.com/hakol-chadash-iii.html
