Chris in VA
but I don't think he did. I feel so awful! He wrote a limerick for his Progeny Press poetry curriculum, and I thought he plagiarized it. Something about a man from Piccadilly who ate at a deli or something like that (I just remember the line--"he spat on the floor"--). Anyway, this is my sweet 19 year old who is homeschooling and really self-educating most of his curriculum. I asked for forgiveness, and I just wish I could be 100 percent, totally, absolutely sure he did not cheat. lionfamily1999
Chris, run a search on ask.com, using the poem, or multiple searches using pieces of the poem. That's how my English Prof. checks our work.
Storm Bay
Chris, run a search on ask.com, using the poem, or multiple searches using pieces of the poem. That's how my English Prof. checks our work. I didn't know about this. Could you also google a line or two in quotes? Just curious--which is the better way? lionfamily1999
I've used ask.com since it was askjeeves.com, because you can put in a question or quote and get (for me) better results. Whenever I use google I end up with so many scattered results I get frustrated.
Kris
It will work with any search engine -- Ask.com, Google, Yahoo! -- but you need a distinctive phrase to work with. Put it in quotes and see what you find. Hint: "he spat on the floor" won't work. Seems lots of folks do this. :D

AnnetteB
Maybe the rhymes and phrasing sounded familiar to your ear, but he sounds innocent. Limericks aren't worth jeopardizing your relationship. I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
