Abraham
Hello all! My name is Abraham, and I live in Monmouth County, NJ, with my wife, son (22 months), and daughter (9 months). My wife and I have been talking about homeschooling since our son was born, and we've recently made the final decision to try it out. It's something I've been dreaming about for years (I'm largely self-educated myself) and I'm delighted that my wife is on the same page as me now. We are Orthodox Jews, so our curriculum needs will likely be far more extensive than most here (i.e. the kids need to learn Hebrew, Torah, prayers, etc from an early age), but even so I look forward to interacting with and learning from all of you here (and perhaps getting some networking in as well). I know my kids are a little young, but it's my strongly held view that if a person starts working on his or her child as soon as the child is born, the parent is already nine months too late. All the best!
Miss Tick
Welcome! Starting early is a great idea. As you read the forums here over multiple years you see patterns emerge around favored curricula along with why and for whom. There are a lot of knowledgeable people and the archives are a trove of wisdom.
Rosie_0801
Hiya, There are other Orthodox Jews on here, so I'm sure you'll find people to discuss that side of things with, as you go along. The more you've preempted by learning in advance, the easier it is when your kids get around to needing it!
