Black Friday for autism books?

If ST runs a sale it's usually nominal. Last year AAPC had a tremendous sale for BF. But remember they're swamped at OCALICON this coming week, so no sales. MW has done holiday ish sales in the past, but I don't recall much last BF or even last year. I don't know if i've just been missing them or what. I think it's rough being a small business and being expected to run sales, so they just may not sometimes or may wait.

I'd be hopeful on AAPC. It was the whole store last year, just crazy. Get on their email I guess or check back.

I just chatted with someone on the AAPC website -- they said to sign up for their emails to get emails about Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  I have got my eye on Talk With Me and Excelling With Autism.

Talk with Me is pretty high level. I haven't even attempted it with ds. He really could use more work on a basic level. Have you looked at Conversation Club? It's simpler, but there's never too much work on conversation. I was just pretty blown away by TwM. That's gonna be more like high school level here I think.

I went to Aspy's talk last year that was the jist of Excelling with Autism. It's great stuff, but it's also a concept. You may already be there in your mind. Remember, their market is school professionals, psychs, SN coor, people high up in the food chain, making an argument for why they ought to structure their programs a certain way.

Had you seen this? https://www.aapcpublishing.com/products/visual-recipes?_pos=1&_sid=eccb444d5&_ss=r&variant=23029054832688  I already have the vol 1 Cooking to Learn, so I didn't bite. But really, this is excellent.

I did look at Conversation Club and I think he has already been doing it at school!  He has definitely done a lot on topic maintenance and generating questions.  I was still thinking about it but I am afraid it looks a little young for him and then I wouldn’t be able to use the storybooks.  I don’t mind if I get this one then use it more later.

I am hoping there will be practical tips in Excelling with Autism.  It is a long enough book lol.  I can take a chance for $20.

30% off at AAPC!  I got the books I planned on plus this book:  https://www.aapcpublishing.com/collections/social-skills-communication/products/the-cartoon-and-script-curriculum-for-teaching-social-behavior-and-communication?variant=23029053521968  It looks like it will be a good fit.

I’m not doing it, because I don’t want to commit for 6 months, but the Epic Reading app is having a 50% off sale.  My son is listening to Goosebumps audiobooks and then (for some) watching the same book as a tv episode on Netflix.  “Say Cheese and Die” has Ryan Gosling.

But I don’t know how long this phase will last and he isn’t very interested in the app otherwise.
