Instead of going with a local HVAC company, DH is considering using Costco. I'm nervous about doing that and don't even know if it will save a significant amount of money. Thoughts? I would make them bid just like any other contractor. three bids (written down in detail) is geneally considered a minimum. if you have an exec. membership - you will be able to factor in that 5% back (at least on the unit - don't think it covers labor) on your purchase. we are in costco's "homeland" (there are five within 30minutes of my house) - and have never used them for an hvac. dd got a new hvac within the last year - and did not use them.
