mom@shiloh
It's been a hot summer, and we don't have central air. We don't typically need it, but this summer the humidity has been so high that I'm getting mildewy stuff on the furniture on the main floor of the house. Ewwww. We run dehumidifiers in our basements, but they do put out warm air, so I'd rather not add MORE warm air in our living areas. I'm looking for recommendations for portable air conditioners, window air conditioners or something else. Any ideas?
AmandaVT
We have the same issue with getting mildew and mold if we don't run an AC unit during the hot/humid weather. We bought an LG window unit this summer because we needed to replace our downstairs unit and it's great. It is much quieter than our last one and it has a "dry" option for the days that aren't hot, but are humid. It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D3FOMHK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Mergath
We have an 8,000 btu Haier from Walmart in our window. It's a little noisy, but it keeps the living room and the kitchen cool, and it didn't cost a small fortune. It has a/c options as well as a dehumidify option, which is nice because we've had some awful humidity this summer.
