SOTW vol 1 and biblical history resources

Can anyone recommend any great resources to teach bible along side SOTW 1 without purchasing something like Biblioplan or TOG?  I'm looking for something that especially has those good, thought provoking questions and discussion topics.  I will have a 6th grader, 3rd grader and 1st grader that I am planning for.  Thanks.

Could you find a used copy of Mystery of History Volume 1 somewhere? The two mesh up nicely and MOH does a really good job putting biblical events in order with the rest of history. I don't know if it has thought-provoking questions, though. Some of the activities might lend themselves to discussion topics.
