Even if it hatches, they can't fly as soon as eaglets, right? The first step to follow the mama would be tragic. And if goslings are like ducks, they need to be able to dip their nares (nostrils) in water to cleanse them and stay healthy. The people will not interfere with eagle nesting behaviors.
