nixpix5
Can someone share with me the differences, if any, between the older hardback Saxon 5/4 textbooks and the new 5/4 softcover text and workbook? I ask because I have heard people say to find older copies of the textbook because it is better. I just wonder what that means. Thank you for any help with this! Junie
According to this blog post by Art Reed, the second and third editions are virtually the same and either is recommended. Edited to add: This recommendation is for Saxon 5/4. The blog post has his recommendations for other levels as well. nixpix5
Thanks Junie! This will give me something to read through. I have the new soft cover 5/4 set but I remember someone saying the older textbook was better. I just didn't commit to memory what that was. The softcover is expensive and doesn't seem like it will hold up to multiple kids so I thought of picking up the hardback cheap on amazon if it is the same or better. PentecostalMom
Just a note. I attempted to use the 3rd Edition Tests & Worksheets book with the 2nd Edition text because I had them from prior students. They are not compatible. The 3rd Edition has some concepts out of order from the 2nd.
