Liz CA
I know very little about the GED. This prep material would be for someone taking the GED in CA. I went to their website and gathered some info but they want people to establish an account and I did not want to create a fake account just for more info. Anything else one should know, other than it apparently costs $150...? ETA: The test taker's native language is not English. I think he understands and speaks well enough to take the test but I have not seen a writing sample. Lanny
Is his native language Spanish? If so, possibly they offer the examinations in Spanish, with the exception of Reading/Writing English?Would the HiSET examination(s) be better accepted than the GED is? https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/gd/ "Although some HSE Test preparation programs may issue “diplomas or certificates†of program completion, these documents ARE NOT genuine high school equivalency credentials." 6packofun
Does he want to do all the studying on his own? Our two oldest took a class offered through the library where they took a small practice test and then continued with the class at a local career center. ALL free. In fact, in our state, all classes for GED prep are free and sometimes they have study materials to take home. Every state is different, of course. Here is decent info on the new computer test: https://www.thoughtco.com/the-computer-based-ged-test-31280

No, he is Punjabi. Does he want to do all the studying on his own? I think he will do most of the studying by himself, perhaps consider some prep classes if he is not sure about some of the material.
6packofun
No, he is Punjabi. You might also consider asking around at local schools or organizations that offer ESL classes if they know of any GED resources.
