EKT
I'm about to order the basic student dissection kit from Carolina Biological Supply for my 5th grader, but I know we won't actually do the dissections until about mid-fall. (I just prefer to prep ahead of time and order all my homeschool stuff for the entire year in July.) I'm assuming the specimens (earthworm, grasshopper, crayfish, frog) will come in some sort of plastic bag that can just sit on my shelf for awhile, correct? (I know they come preserved, so maybe this is a stupid question? lol. I just want to make sure the specimens are not going to somehow "go bad" before I need to use them.) Thanks! MerryAtHope
You should be fine--I always bought my specimens in the summer and used them when needed throughout the year.
Jean in Newcastle
Yes. Ours sat for quite a while. In fact, we have dissected one specimen and the others are still waiting. We do another one tonight. . .
