Has anyone ever used Mango languages? I am trying to decide if I should use Mango Languages or Rosetta Stone for my DD going into 4th grade who wants to learn Italian. I also have a daughter going to be a 9th grader and would like to try and use the same for both (if possible) to save money. Help!!!!

We used Mango a little. It's okay. It's a little. . . passive, I guess. You can flip through the slides and not necessarily actively learn the info.

I would try Duolingo. It's free, and it has a variety of ways to test what you learn.

That is good to know that Mango is passive. My girls already use Duolingo and enjoy it.

Well, we almost didn't get Rosetta because of some less than stellar reviews but when it was on sale we nabbed the homeachool version and so far we all are loving it. I am using it as a refresher and our 3 kids have started level 1 and they really enjoy it. We will see if that continues to be the case as they progress.

The only snag we ran into is the mic that comes with it is terrible so we purchased another one on amazon that is a bit better quality. My daughter has hearing aids so we would have needed to anyway but I was surprised at the oddness of their mic. Maybe it was just us who didn't like it.

We like duolingo alot but they didn't have our language. I haven't tried Mango. I did want to say Living Language the complete box set is AWESOME. I plan to get it when my kids are a bit older. They have it for Italian as well. It is probably my favorite language curriculum.
