CadenceSophia
I'm feeling really uninspired for what to do for history next year. I'm thinking that maybe for the summer, or even the rest of this calendar year, I can drown the kids in biographies of people with all kinds of lives and across the world until we come to some things we'd like to study more in depth. I'd especially like to hit some mathematicians, scientists and writers if possible. These would be read-aloud books. I'm not interested in short picture books. D'Aulaires quality up through novels. My kids are not particularly sensitive but I'd like to keep them in the range of generally child safe and overall positive/uplifting. (We're not library people so I'll be purchasing these books) Thanks for any ideas!
chocolate-chip chooky
We like the Horribly Famous book series. It's done with humour and they are easy to read, while still being full of good info.
J&JMom
We have enjoyed the "Who Was..." series. There are about 140 books in the series (Who Was...Where Is.. What is...), and we have read about 70 of them. These are light, relatable reads that take about an hour to read aloud.
