EthylPie
I know it exists somewhere, but I can't find a book list (fiction or nonfiction) that correlates with SOTW 3. I know the activity book has reading suggestions (I don't have this yet, it's on my want list for next year......) I'm looking for longer chapter books (like Adam of the Road) not just picture or reference books on a 4th grade reading level. Thanks for any suggestions! hermione310
Have you seen the list at this link? http://lextineclectic.com/2014/10/literature-list-for-story-of-the-world-volume-3.html4 Spoke too soon -- my apologies. These do not appear to be chapter books. Edited February 8, 2017 by hermione310
ScoutTN
Do you have the AG? It usually lists some chapter books as well as picture books in the "additional literature" section. Are you specifically wanting fiction? Some favorites are Johnny Tremain and Carry On, Mr. Bowditch There will be many more historical fiction books for early American history than for other areas. These are chapter book biographies: http://www.picsandpapers.com/landmark-books-in-chronological-order/ Historical fiction. Look under early modern and modern for SOTW 3 time frame. http://www.bethlehembooks.com/ Edited February 8, 2017 by ScoutTN
SoCal_Bear
You would have to go through the list to figure out which are chapter books...but this homeschooler put together a list of books used in Sonlight by WTM cycle years and arranged them by grammar, logic and rhetoric stage. http://homescool-ed.blogspot.com/2007/04/sonlight-books-arranged-by-well-trained.html
ScoutTN
All Through The Ages by Christine Miller is a booklist book that could be helpful too.
beka87
When we read SOTW 3, we enjoyed supplementing with The Matchlock Gun, Sign of the Beaver, Of Courage Undaunted, and 1801: Year of the Horseless Carriage. All are chapter books except for The Matchlock Gun, which is somewhere between picture and chapter and deserves to be read anyway. They were all very good choices.
