Joules
Ds needs this for astronomy lab and optics this semester. There's not a specific one recommended. All the cheap compasses that I have don't stay in position well. A set in a little box seems nice. Does anyone have a recommendation for a brand or set? I'd love to order something from amazon today to be here this weekend.
JanetC
Staedtler makes quality compasses.
Sebastian (a lady)
Weems and Plath is another brand. They are found in navigation sets. You might try a university bookstore or artist supply store. https://www.amazon.com/Weems-Plath-Navigation-Ultralight-Divider/dp/B0000AYIMH Edited January 11, 2017 by Sebastian (a lady)
quark
We like the Alvin Bow (introductory) from Dick Blick. A large variety to choose from here.
MorningGlory
Staedtler makes quality compasses. I still have mine from college (actually my entire Staedtler graphics kit). I'm not saying how many years ago that was but suffice it to say the thing is probably an antique.
