Familia
What was I thinking? My peeling crew doesn't come till late tonight, and I have gobs of other things to do. Can I dry out the soaking and let them wait till tomorrow? Just wondering about quality. I know (strawberries for example) some fruits & veggies don't like it. TIA!
Chelle in MO
Absolutely! When we go camping, I wash potatoes at home, let them air dry, then put them in an open Ziploc bag to cook a couple of days later.
Familia
Thank you! I am a dietitian, and I way overthink food things. My education doesn't give me all the answers, just fills me with all the questions :willy_nilly:

Lanny
They usually have 2 kinds of the standard potatoes on sale in the supermarkets here. The ones with Dirt on them and others that have been washed. I used to buy the washed potatoes, and one day, they only had the dirty ones and I bought those. My wife then told me that she washed the washed potatoes anyway. Also, the washed ones cost about 2X and for the difference in price, I would wash them. So, yes, they can be washed and on sale in the store. My wife I think indicated that the Dirty Potatoes are probably fresher and better...
