NewIma
Hello Everyone! I picked up Joy Hakim's history series for my 4th grader, but it is just too much at this point. I would like to save it for 6th or 7th grade. Does anyone have any other suggestions? We are looking for something easy to do, laid out for me, interesting, secular or secularish, and American History focused. That should be easy right?! lol Thanks so much for your ideas! bluedarling
What about the Story of the USA workbooks? Sonlight uses them in their curriculum, but you could use it and fill in around it with books from the library?
nicoleseitler
When it comes to the late grammar stage, I feel like I have a giant hole in my choices... especially for modern history. Sigh. I do love Joy Hakim's books for my middle schoolers--so do save them! They are great! Were you looking for something for early or more modern history? (Say... SOTW 3 or 4?) If it's early American history, my favorite books are the lovely ones created by Besty and Giulio Maestro. Hope that helps!
