Word roots for 2nd grade

Hey there. I'd like to start word studies with my 2nd grader--Greek/Latin roots, affixes, etc. Does anyone know of a title or kit that'd appeal to & be relevant for this age? I imagine it'd begin with words familiar to this age group & build from there. Anything interactive or that contains manipulatives would be a much appreciated bonus.

Ditto Rummy Roots + MCT Building Language

 

I had my ds do a journal entry for each root he learned. A sentence using it and a picture, usually.

We used Rummy Roots and More Rummy roots.  We didn't play them as a Rummy game though.  We played it as a Memory/matching game.

My greek and latin bingo game and my greek worksheet. The latin and mixed one may be too hard, but they are all free to print. The bingo game works with kids as young as K!

The worksheets are called language worksheets in the student file. All bingo stuff is in teacher file.

I just ordered Latin from the roots up flash cards, and I go over them every day with my 2nd and 6th graders. It's going great and they are able to figure out a ton of words already.
