Suzanne in ABQ
This map will show you the current wind on the ground anywhere on earth, including over the ocean. It is updated every 3 hours. You can slide around the globe and zoom into Florida, or wherever. https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=122.62,32.89,3000/loc=129.165,35.171 This map only shows the USA, but if you hover over any spot, it will give real time wind speeds at that spot, including off the coast. I believe it is constantly updated. You can zoom on this one as well, and it shows major city locations. http://hint.fm/wind/ Edited October 7, 2016 by Suzanne in ABQ

gardenmom5
I found this one site, very similar to the first you posted, except it also shows temperature, snow, etc. and you can do more filtering.

Ooo I like that! I love the filters, and the colors! I'm adding it to my collection!
mamiof5
Both websites are really cool! Thanks for posting. I'm not very well educated in this storm stuff. What's considered a dangerous wind speed? What parameters are we supposed to look for? We are nowhere near, but I am really interested in checking how things play out during the weekend. Praying for everyone's safety!!
