Ellie
Has anyone used this curriculum? How does it compare to MEP, Math Mammoth or MCP Math? Is it ahead or behind most 3rd grade curriculum? I don't know that it is either ahead or behind other math texts. Here's the scope and sequence, which might help you. What I don't like about Purposeful Design materials is that all of them require heavy teacher involvement, and the teacher manuals are pricey. There are plenty of other publishers which are just as good as Purposeful Design that are more reasonably priced and more homeschool-friendly. KaceeM
I'm tutoring a child who completed ACSI Math 3. He barely completed the Math Mammoth 2 End of Year test. I have looked at the S&S and while it doesn't seem behind I was hoping to hear from someone who had used so I would discern if it was the curriculum or the child. HomeAgain
From the S&S, I would say it is behind MEP. MEP covers addition facts to 20 in year one, introduction of all multiplication facts in year 2. Those were the two biggies that stood out to me, though I'm sure I can find other differences if I look at it closer.
