DoraBora
When I enter the code for homeschooled students (per the CB website -- 970000), it populates a field that says my student is "Schooled at Home" in NY, NY. Is this because the College Board has its national headquarters there, or is that something that will mess up my daughter on test day? We don't live in NY... ( I may be overthinking... it happens.)
Arcadia
970000 is the correct code. See post #8 http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/32654-sat-subject-test-homeschool-code/?p=278404

MomsintheGarden
It's weird but that's the correct code for the SAT, and NY is what pops up for it. I guess they had to pick something. :). My three oldest took the SAT using that code with no problems even though we live in VA. Weirder still is that the CB uses different codes for homeschoolers taking the PSAT and AP exams, one for each state. I don't understand why those tests use different codes than the SAT does. I don't understand why those tests use different codes than the SAT does. For PSAT, the national merit qualifying scores are state dependent. So there is a PSAT code for each state. AP exams has a Report to Nation report that is divided by subjects and states. Having different codes for each state for AP probably just make data sorting by states faster. https://research.collegeboard.org/programs/ap/data/nation/2014
MomsintheGarden
Thanks, Arcadia, state codes for the PSAT and AP exams makes sense. Also, there are state AP scholar awards so they would need state codes for those. Why don't they use the state codes for the SAT as well, to be consistent? Because that would make too much sense, silly. ;)
