Faithr
I have been so distracted and it has been so slow to get this project going, but I actually have an appointment with a cabinet place tomorrow to design our new master bathroom and order cabinets! So now I have a really pressing question: which is better, white cabinets or dark cabinets??? I don't want the bathroom looking dark and gloomy but the style I seem to always to gravitate to is kind of rustic Tuscan. The bathroom does have two big windows but we always have the shades drawn because they face the front of the house (2nd floor). And unlike all the photos from HGTV which always features bathtubs in front of huge open windows facing woodland, our bathroom looks out on the street where people are mowing lawns and walking dogs and stuff. We really don't want to flash the neighbors. So decisions, decisions. . . I might have to go with white even if in a dream world I'd go for rustic wood. . . LifeLovePassion
No opinion on color. We did a natural maple. But what I do love is the tall height vanity we made.
Mbelle
OH! How exciting! I just love designing and decorating projects. Any photos of styles you're considering? They both sound great, but it seems like you do have a heart for the rustic.
medawyn
We only have one window, but we are going with dark cabinets and light counters. If you love dark, go for it!
Sun
If you like wood cabinets, get them. My only cautions would be that if you're concerned about the room being too dark, make sure that you have more light than you'll think you'll need (install on multiple switches so you can use what you need) and make sure your counters are light. Dark counters + dark wood = dark hole of despair.
