Reefgazer
I just received the MiIler-Levine biology text in the mail for DD's biology class next year. The text I received has over 1000 pages; is this the high school honors biology text I should have?
SparklyUnicorn
No clue, but all the high school science books I've encountered are huge like that.
Mom22ns
That is pretty standard is high school texts. While there are a lot of pages, it isn't terribly dense. For standard level biology we did about 85% of the book. For honors level, we did the whole thing. I found a local high school that had syllabi to use the book both ways and took my cue from them.
SparklyUnicorn
I bought the TM for the book we have. HOLY COW. It's even bigger. Seriously, one could use it as a weapon. LOL
AEC
yup, that's the one. We're doing the whole book - a chapter a week + an extra week for each unit to do a project/extra-lab/study for the unit test (except unit 1, that didn't seem worth it). At that rate it'll take you something like 42 weeks to finish the text. A chapter a week isn't too bad, actually - chapters are 4 (sometimes 3) sections each, so a section a day along with its workbook, the chapter test on Friday & a lab every other week or so.
