Last summer he had an intensive class on carving birds (out of wood), so he has some experience. I don't know the first thing about what to get him. Does anyone have any ideas? I saw it a few weeks ago and now I can't put my hands on it, but you might check them out. They have lots of gift ideas. If I get a chance to locate the catalogue I'll get back to you about it. But I did hear my DS's scout leader say that all wood carvers needed some special little cover-thing (I don't remember the name!) for their thumb.
