Does anyone use Turkish towels?

We have found them to be so-so.  Soft, but we like a thick bamboo/cotton blend for at home.

For beach towels, our family prefers microfiber ones like these - http://www.amazon.com/Highlander-Outdoor-Micro-Bath-Towel/dp/B003YLHL3Q/ref=sr_1_19?s=bedbath&ie=UTF8&qid=1445604580&sr=1-19&refinements=p_n_material_browse%3A316538011 They quick dry, shake off the sand easily, and don't take up much room.

I don't see a link, but assuming they're the same product you can buy from EBay, they're not at all fluffy and absorbent like a bath or beach towel. We have them in our backpacks for travel towels as they fold small and will double as a sheet or wrap, but as straight towel they'd never get my vote. We keep microfibres towels in the glove compartment for when the kids insist they don't want to go to the beach and then get in the sea full clothed (which happens ridiculously often), and those are much more absorbent, and dry you better but the downside is that they really get quite sodden.
