seema
This is our first year homeschooling, my 12 y/o dd. We are using WW3000 online program and easy grammar plus, wondering what to add for writing and spelling, She struggles with writing spelling, and is a reluctant writer. I am looking into EIW, CLE(LA, reading), R&S spelling or AAS, something that will keep her interest. Also we are using PLATO for life science, she finds it boring, what can I supplement for experiments/hands on stuff to make it bit interesting? we are using" World Cultures and Geography" textbook, for history, any suggestions to make history interesting, she prefers video based lessons. mom2samlibby
What about Logic of English? We use Heart of Dakota. It uses living books that make history come alive. My kids enjoy it a lot.
SnMomof7
If she likes video, EIW would be a good fit. We are using it for 7th. Rod and Staff is a solid choice for spelling, but if she struggles you may want to place her further back than 7th (which is roots based). TheApprentice
As a science supplement, you could check out Homeschool Science tools for various experiments that you could buy separately. For Literature, we are using Lightning Literature 7 and for writing, we will be using Essentials in Writing.
MerryAtHope
I do really like Essentials in Writing and All About Spelling--both helped my kids a lot (We've finished AAS x2! and we're onto EIW 11 this year--our 5th level). Here are reviews I've done. Best wishes as you try to figure out what will work best for your dd.
