katalaska
I'm thinking of getting Rubik's Cubes for my dc for Christmas this year. I was unpacking a box of "stuff" from my childhood and some of my old "brain puzzles" were in there. Do you have a favorite or recommended brain teaser type toy and a favorite or recommended place to shop for such things?

Do you have a favorite or recommended brain teaser type toy and a favorite or recommended play to shop for such things? http://www.johnrausch.com/PuzzleWorld/puz/vanishing_leprechaun.htm We had this at one time and kept everyone trying to figure it out for hours and hours and hours. Once you read it you will understand this. One time dad had everyone kids, friends, who ever was at the house watch their leprechaun....we never could figure it out. love2read
We have at least a dozen of the Thinkfun puzzles and enjoy them all. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_t?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=thinkfun
Country Girl
Lonpos 303 and Rush Hour are probably are favorites. Timberdoodle carries both of them as well as some others that we enjoy like Zoologic and Colorku.
Vida Winter
We really like Set (the card game). I love the workbooks from Tin Man Press. They are very fun for kids and get them thinking in different ways. http://www.tinmanpress.com In fact I am going to ask for Tin Man Press workbooks from the grandparents when they ask me what to get my middle dd for Christmas. There are example pages on their website. There are also fun math board games from Muggins Math. http://www.mugginsmath.com There are short videos demonstrating games on their site. ~Dana

Another set of puzzles I thought of that we like are the 3D Squares puzzles. They are hard and can be frustrating, but I really like them. You can find them lots of places but here is a link to a bunch of them on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_t/105-8698756-6566817?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=3D+squares&x=0&y=
