madteaparty
I want to avoid classifying kids, because I think that says more about the parents than the kids themselves and in any event he's way too young. But it is the case that his favorite thing to do, academically speaking, is read books and discuss books (on and on). He writes creatively as well but he keeps that part private. Anyway, I know about performance arts camps like French Woods (but only because we drove by it the other day!) and of course there's math camps, and programming camps. Are there camps for kids like mine? If he could be in an online G3 class all day everyday discussing whatever book, he is happy. almondbutterandjelly
Our local university has a summer writer's camp for kids and teens. It's a week or two.
Farrar
I went to Duke Young Writer's Camp when I was a kid. It was excellent. It runs at the same time as their on campus TIP stuff: http://www.learnmore.duke.edu/youth/youngwriter/ I know there are at least a couple of other university type camps like that.
Kalmia
This is an amazing opportunity for high school aged kids (keep it in your planning folder). I went in high school, and it was transformational.
