Night Elf
DS needs practice with taking notes in a lecture. We started with a class at MIT OpenCourseWare, but the material is hard to understand. He got a few lectures in and just couldn't understand what the instructor was talking about, making it hard to decide what to write. Are there any other online lectures that show an instructor in front of a classroom and writing notes on a board in addition to talking? regentrude
What subject are you looking for? For a college class, students would typically be required to read some sections in the textbook before coming to lecture. Without prereading, the lecture will be hard to understand.

Trilliums
Also look for Teaching Company videos at your local library. These usually come with a guidebook outlining the material covered which can help your son see how they break down the material.
Night Elf
Thanks! We're open to any lectures but science and history are his preferred classes. I'll have him look at these and see if he finds something that will work for him.
