Farrar Posted April 24, 2015 Share Posted April 24, 2015 I sort of overthought this a little bit, I think. I looked at a bunch of them and couldn't decide at all online. In the end, I bought one at the thrift store and it's been perfect. My feeling is that - at least for my pretty average middle schoolers - we don't need the thickest bestest options. I think, based on a thesaurus thread elsewhere, that I'm aiming for The American Hritage Student titles. I like what I see there a lot. You might also consider one of the writing handbooks from Great Source such as Write Source 2000 (for grades 6 - 8) or Writers Inc (for high schoolers).
