g1234
Also, is it thought to be as rigorous as other standard Alg. 2 texts, like Foerster's? I'd appreciate any perspective anyone has. Thanks!
EKS
It is Algebra II. I would say that Foerster's is more difficult.
Mom22ns
I agree with Kai. We use Lial's. My kids weren't really up for Foerster's. They both struggle with math. I do consider Lial's to be firmly on-level, not weak at all like many homeschool specific math programs.
EKS
I should point out that EPGY uses the Lial series for its upper level math courses.
g1234
Thanks a lot, EKS and Momto2Ns. That helps!
kiana
+1 for an on-level algebra 2 course.
g1234
Sorry, Kiana. I'm not quite sure what you mean, though I'd like to. Could you elaborate?
Mom22ns
+1 is the equivalent of saying "like" I think she is just agreeing that she likes it as an on-level Algebra 2 course :).
kiana
Sorry, Kiana. I'm not quite sure what you mean, though I'd like to. Could you elaborate? I use +1 for "I agree". I agree that it is an on-level algebra 2 course. It's solid, not spectacular, but if worked conscientiously will prepare a student for any reasonable precalculus course. KarenC
Are the newer editions that much better? The older editions are much less expensive.
kiana
Are the newer editions that much better? The older editions are much less expensive. No. The only issue might be weird calculator instructions in old editions, but you can just ignore those.
Mom22ns
I've used this edition twice now.
g1234
Ah, thanks Momto2Ns and kiana. I learned something new today!
