thundersweet
My middle will be in 4th grade this year. He is dyslexic but reading on grade level. I think I'll have him read from SL readers this year with me (I have most all of their readers through 5th grade) but I want to include books that are above his reading level to help enrich his vocabulary and get him interested in reading. What are some good read alouds that your boys enjoyed at this age? I'll either read these books aloud or I'll download the book on Learning Ally so he can listen. Thanks, Sandy
Flowergirl159
Have you looked at Ambleside Online? They have a lot great classics in each year level of free reads. Or 1000 Good Books list?
madteaparty
Not sure about vocabulary enrichment but last year we enjoyed Bud, Not Buddy and Wonder (this is more 5th grade I would guess). These two were enjoyable but not sure they did much for us vocabulary-wise. Lemony Snickett's A Series of Unfortunate events probably had a bit more vocabulary.

Mrs Twain
The Veritas Press catalog has a wonderful list of books by grade level. I can't think of one VP book recommendation we haven't liked.
