More than any book before, and that is saying something :) Can anyone recommend something similar? I would like a chapter boo, animal stories, well written & preferably true stories.. Thanks so much! Chrysalis Academy
Check out Lori D's post #5 on this thread - she has some good ones! Mostly fiction though. http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/518714-book-suggestions-for-dd8/

alisoncooks
I am about to finish reading James Herriot's Treasury to DD8 This looks fabulous! I've not run across this before. I bet DD8 will love it! Have you read the Nature Readers from CLP?
dragonflyer
Have you looked at Thornton Burgess's books? They are personified animals, but teach you about what the animals are like.

Have you read the Nature Readers from CLP? :) We actually have a few of those! I used to read them to her when she was a baby & big sister was a toddler! Thank you for the reminder. If memory serves me correctly, they are more factual than narrative, but I could be wrong. I have actually ordered this for her: The trumpet of the swan I hope she enjoys it. They are personified animals, but teach you about what the animals are like. we did have one a few years back. If I remember correctly, it wasn't the best for us, because the animals were not all familiar to us (We are in the UK) but thinking about it, that could have been the bird book, so I must investigate, thank you.
