JadeOrchidSong
We've been watching and enjoying CNN Student News for current events, but today is their last day and will resume in late August. Meanwhile, I would like to continue watching news with my boys. Do you have other websites with good quality news like CNN? Thanks!
redsquirrel
My boys are going to miss it as well. I think that New York Times allows free access to their education blog? http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/ "And remember: The Learning Network and everything we publish, as well as all the content from The Times that we link to, is free and accessible without a digital subscription." So you could use that. It actually has quite a lot of content. It isn't the same as CNN student news but it is something. There is also a student crossword puzzle! and I don't know how much it is updated during the summer.
OneStepAtATime
Going to be missing it here, too. Thanks for the link, redsquirrel.
Cosmos
We like Carl and his puns! We watch on our Roku device, and every once in awhile the current CNN Student News doesn't show up on the Roku channel. When that happens, we have sometimes watched Anderson Cooper 360 Daily, which is also about ten minutes. For us, it's right on the same Roku channel, but I'm sure it's available out on the web somewhere too.
Haiku
My kids are sad about Student News, too. My dd wants to write a letter to Carl Azuz and remind him that some kids still want to watch the news all summer long. :D

Cosmos
Which channel is it on? You know you can watch Student News on the CNN website, right? Oh sure, but we prefer to watch it in the living room on the tv. It's just part of our routine to go in there in the morning. I have my coffee. If it's missing on the Roku channel, it generally shows up later in the day and the next day we just watch two of them back to back. It's on the Newscaster channel on Roku. Haiku
It's on the Newscaster channel on Roku. I looked but didn't see it. Is it the free one or the one that's now $0.99 a month?
Cosmos
I looked but didn't see it. Is it the free one or the one that's now $0.99 a month? Ours was free. It's this one here -- Roku Newscaster. I'm not familiar with the paid version. In the channel, it's organized by network, and CNN Student News is under the CNN sub-section. Haiku
Weird. I have the Roku Newscaster, but CNN Student News doesn't show up, and the only Anderson Cooper I can find is the audio-only version of the complete, 45-minute show. No AC360 Daily video show.
