Changed
I have a silly question... How do you implement it? Do you use it as a spine for what topics to teach? Or do you (or have child) read a page in each section each day?
Aiden
:bigear: Thanks for asking--I'm curious too!
Woodland Mist Academy
The books were fun supplements for us. We did them as read-alouds in the early years and as assigned reading in the later years. Actually, by the last book I didn't really need to make it an assignment because she loved reading the books for fun. My daughter was disappointed when she finished the series. Hunter
I've used them as a read aloud and a scope and sequence.
Alessandra
I have used the Core Knowledge program since K. I use the CK teacher handbooks, other materials from CK, and LOADS of our own books/library books for CK. The NTK books are great, but I like books with pictures, lol. Also, by choosing our owm materials, I can get the right mix of read alouds and books at dc reading level. There are people who use NTK as a textbook, nothing wrong with that. I just happen to enjoy customizing.
Zoo Keeper
I use them as the spine for our American history studies, utilizing the Artner Reader's Guide to American History (from Memoria Press); I'm not able to link right now, but if you search here on the boards with my username and Artner, something should pop up.
