lacell
I am planning to do a lot of living books for kindergarten history, focusing on early American history and brief introduction to other peoples/cultures of the world. I am thinking of waiting until first grade to get into ancient history. I am looking for some sort of simple spine to help organize the living books. I have eliminated CHOW, MOH and LIttle Pilgrims. Any ideas?
Courtney_Ostaff
Yes! We read: Children Just Like Me: A Unique Celebration of Children Around the World But these look good too: A Life Like Mine: How Children Live Around the World A Child's Introduction to the World: Geography, Cultures, and People - From the Grand Canyon to the Great Wall of China A Faith Like Mine

AdventuresinHomeschooling
Veritas Press just came out last year with a couple of really cute history books for K/1 history. Bede's History of Me and Bede's History of the U.S. One is about social studies type stuff with family, neighborhood, etc., and the other focuses on the country. They introduce the concept of a timeline. If you want, you could also get some library books about other cultures...maybe cook some international meals when you study them and call it a day. Check them out. I am planning to do with my kindergartener this year.
